Feds Say SNFs Added 6,000 Jobs in January

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) on Wednesday said skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) added 6,000 jobs in January compared to December, putting the sector back on track for building employment levels after a small decline was seen in December.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) on Wednesday said skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) added 6,000 jobs in January compared to December, putting the sector back on track for building employment levels after a small decline was seen in December.


Year-to-year, SNFs employed 52,900 more people last month when compared to January 2025 at 1,575,600 workers vs. 1,522,700 workers, respectively.


All numbers are seasonally adjusted.


Overall, employers added 130,000 jobs in January, and the national unemployment rate declined to 4.3 percent from 4.4 percent in December, BLS said.
