NIC Brings the Noise in Nashville

If you didn’t have a dance partner to talk deals or business in Nashville last week for the NIC Spring Conference, it wasn’t for the lack of people.
If you didn’t have a dance partner to talk deals or business in Nashville last week for the NIC Spring Conference, it wasn’t for the lack of people. Bustling ballrooms, crowded hallways, and a teeming hotel lobby were evidence enough of an active time for seniors housing leaders and stakeholders bent on networking and actual dealmaking.
As hyperactive as some of the talk was about the great opportunities to build housing, manage resident care, and attract a new workforce to meet booming demand in an aging country, there also was a recognition of a general uncertainty in the U.S. economy fueled by wartime jitters, confusing tariff policies, and the feeling a recession could be in the offing.
Inside the conference, leaders on stage delivered advice, guidance, and education on how to successfully own and operate skilled nursing facilities while providing top-notch clinical care. Most sessions dealt with questions on AI in one form or another, others tried to decipher the outlook for attracting workers to long-term care, and still others held out hope for a value-based care revolution as fed officials present practically pleaded for more attention from the sector on ACOs and the like.
