Senior Living Sees Hope for Middle-Income Housing Bill

New legislation to create a “first-ever” middle-income housing tax credit has earned the endorsement of the National Center for Assisted Living for its possible use by senior living caregivers.
New legislation Workforce Housing Tax Credit Act (H.R.8626) to create a “first-ever” middle-income housing tax credit has earned the endorsement of the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) for its possible use by senior living caregivers.
Reps. Jimmy Panetta (D-Calif.) and Mike Carey (R-Ohio) introduced the bill (H.R. 8626) with the goal of increasing the supply of affordable housing for middle-income families who earn too much to qualify for low-income affordable housing and not enough to afford to buy or rent housing.
NCAL said “this legislative effort represents an integral step to address the severe shortage of workforce housing available, including for senior living and other workers.”
