CMS Revises Technical Specs for SNF HAI, DTC-PAC

CMS has released revised technical specifications for the SNF HAI Requiring Hospitalization and DTC-PAC measures.
The American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) in a blog post said the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has released revised technical specifications for the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) Requiring Hospitalization and Discharge to Community-Post Acute Care (DTC-PAC) measures.
These reports present the technical specifications for the refined SNF HAI and PTC-PAC measures, including updates to incorporate Medicare Advantage encounter records as a data source in addition to Medicare Fee-for-Service claims, the blog post said.
“The reports include the measure overview and rationale, data sources, stay construction and exclusion criteria, numerator and denominator specifications, risk adjustment approach, measure calculation algorithm, measure results, and measure testing findings,” the association’s notice added.
Finally, the post said CMS will provide additional updates related to the public reporting timeline at a future date.
