In a new video updating the Park Place State-by-State series on Illinois, Matt Pickering, executive director, Health Care Council of Illinois (HCCI), joins Mark Parkinson for a celebratory update on how SNFs won higher Medicaid reimbursement and other beneficial technical adjustments from the state legislature.

The win is unique and a long time coming, he said, and comes from a unified advocacy effort spearheaded by the HCCI team and its member providers.

“We were able to more than double the Medicaid access adjustment. It had been set at $4.75 with facilities at least 70 percent Medicaid and we increased it to $10.30,” Pickering said. All told the changes amount to around $100 million to SNFs across the state.
