SNFs Add 3,300 Jobs in June, Outpacing National Numbers

While the national jobs picture disappointed Wall Street, the performance in the SNF sector continued to show promise with the feds reporting 3,300 more jobs in June.
While the national jobs picture disappointed Wall Street with a much-lower-than-expected gain of 57,000 jobs in June, the performance in the SNF sector continued to show promise with the feds reporting 3,300 more individuals employed in June compared to May.
The June data was tempered somewhat by the fact May jobs in SNFs were adjusted lower by 1,800, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data.
The raw number of those employed in SNFs in June was 1,586,600 individuals vs. 1,583,300 in May, BLS said. Yearly comparisons have SNF employment 36,000 jobs higher in June 2026 than In June 2025 when 1,550,600 people worked for facilities.
Now, for the revision. BLS in June said May employment in SNFs was 1,585,100. But in this newest report that number was adjusted lower by 1,800 jobs to 1,583,300.
Wall Street had expected June to show 115,000 new jobs for the entire country. Still, the national unemployment rate fell to 4.2 percent from 4.3 percent because not as many people were looking for work, BLS said.
All numbers are seasonally adjusted.
