Transcript Generated by AI 00:00 Mark Parkinson back with Park Place and very excited and happy today because 00:04 we're announcing that Everest Management Solutions is the most recent sponsor of 00:09 Park Place. 00:10 This is a perfect match. 00:12 The mission of Everest is also the mission of Park Place. 00:15 We're both trying to help her operator succeed. 00:19 Everest is absolutely critical to the sector. 00:21 It has become the go to resource when things get really bad. 00:25 It helps providers who have been put on the special focus list or are facing a 00:30 shutdown or are facing a financial disaster and it creates plans and 00:34 executes those plans to turn things around. 00:38 But it's also become important in a very other key way, 00:41 and that is that for providers who haven't hit rock bottom but are facing 00:45 that possibility, it gives you a plan to keep that from 00:48 happening. 00:49 So I just absolutely love having them and their knowledge and resources on the 00:53 website. 00:54 We're here today with Tiffany Flynn, who is the vice president of senior sales. 00:58 Tiffany, welcome to Park Place. 01:00 Hi, Mark. 01:00 Thank you so much for having me. 01:02 It's such a pleasure to be here, truly. 01:04 Well, Tiffany, we are so glad that you're a sponsor of 01:07 Park Place. 01:07 But more important than that, we're so glad that you offer this service 01:10 to providers. 01:11 Tell us how this started. 01:13 So our founder, Isaac Perlstein, he actually has been in the business for 01:18 over 23 years, owning and operating nursing homes. 01:21 And about five years ago, what he realized was people were 01:25 constantly coming to him for advice. 01:27 You know, he's very fortunate that he has such a 01:30 great team of leaders to guide his communities or facilities that he 01:33 supports, but not every organization has that 01:36 opportunity. 01:36 So he realized there's a need for this service. 01:40 There are people out there who are hungry for information and knowledge. 01:43 And here we are five years later, Everest Management Solutions. 01:48 So what does it become? 01:49 It's, you know, started with folks coming to Isaac saying, 01:51 hey, how do I turn this around? 01:53 What has it become over those five years? 01:55 It's incredible. 01:56 You know, we started as a team of four just being, 01:58 you know, writing consultant plans essentially. 02:00 And then, you know, we, we very soon realized that people needed 02:04 more than just a guide. 02:05 They needed someone that was going to be hands on. 02:07 And so now we've grew. 02:08 We're a team of almost 30, we're all operators, you know, 02:12 specialists in the area of business that we focus on. 02:16 And I mean just years and, and such a wealth of knowledge amongst 02:20 the team. 02:21 And also there it's a team that's not afraid to roll up their sleeves and, 02:24 and really get in there and, and help the communities that we're 02:27 supporting. 02:28 You know, and I know from knowing some of the 02:31 leadership team that you collectively have hundreds of years of experience in 02:36 operations and turnarounds and all of that. 02:39 Just talk a little bit about some of the job titles of folks that you have and the 02:42 amount of experience that they have. 02:45 Yeah. 02:45 So, you know, it's interesting because I had to pull 02:48 these numbers recently and I it almost felt like a not believable number when I 02:52 tallied it all up. 02:53 So combined, we're at almost 500 years of experience, 02:57 which just seems crazy. 02:59 You know, I myself have been in this industry for 03:02 almost 20 years. 03:03 And, you know, amongst our team, we have licensed nursing home 03:07 administrators throughout many of the states that we service. 03:11 We have directors of nurses previously with years of experience, MD's specialist, 03:17 you know, coordinators, AR specialist. 03:21 You know, our AR talent is just, she's incredible. 03:25 You know, we've got our, our CFO has a long history not only in as 03:28 an administrator, but also in the banking world. 03:31 So, you know, just, it's, it really is just a well-rounded team. 03:35 And because we all come with so many years of experience, 03:38 the likelihood that we've all seen it, walked it, 03:41 we understand what the teams are going through, 03:44 it just it makes such a difference when we're putting plans together in support. 03:49 Yeah, that that's a phenomenal number. 03:52 When a provider is facing a massive regulatory challenge shut down or special 03:58 focus or a huge financial challenge, what do you do to fix that? 04:03 So honestly, it all starts off the same way and that 04:06 is with an assessment. 04:07 We need to get to the root cause analysis of of the problem. 04:10 You know, a lot of times we'll get a call that 04:12 maybe there's a census concern. 04:13 Once we get in there, we realize there's actually regulatory 04:17 issues that are compounding which are making it so people don't want to come to 04:21 the facility. 04:22 You know, so there's such an interdisciplinary 04:25 approach to how we support individuals and there's no one-size-fits-all to turn 04:30 around support. 04:32 You know, we really, we dig in, we understand exactly how a facility will 04:35 benefit from that or from our support, and then we put an individualized plan in 04:39 place, you know, similar to how you would build a care 04:42 plan for a resident. 04:43 You know, everything has to be individual and 04:45 everyone has to approach it in a way that's going to be successful for that 04:49 team. 04:51 What sort of results have you achieved over the years? 04:54 You know, I think that's my favorite part about 04:56 what I do. 04:57 You know, we, we came on the scene five years ago, 04:59 as I said, but we really waited until we had some 05:02 really good outcomes and successes under our belt before we we hit the scene and 05:06 said, hey, everyone, we're here and this is what we can do. 05:09 You know, in the last few years we have had so much 05:12 success with regulatory compliance. 05:15 We had a facility that had been on the special focus list for years. 05:19 They were, you know, facing closure. 05:21 We came in within 15 months. 05:24 We helped them graduate from the special focus program. 05:28 We have had communities or facilities that were, you know, 05:31 a one or two star quality measure brought them up to A5. 05:35 We have had a facility that, you know, when we got there, 05:38 they were in a receivership. 05:40 They were sitting at a census of 62. 05:42 Within 17 months they were up to 115. 05:45 Agency was completely eliminated from the facility and the annual EBITDAR 05:51 improvement was 2.6 million. 05:54 So it's, it's really, it's amazing, you know what the team has done. 05:58 And, and I say the team because it truly is 06:01 just everyone working together. 06:03 Isaac will say that all the time. 06:04 He says I'm only as good as the people that I surround myself with, 06:08 the people that work with me. 06:10 And I think that's true. 06:13 Well, Tiffany, I can't tell you how glad I am that you 06:15 all exist. 06:16 You know, I know that it's it operating is so tough. 06:19 And you know, when you face challenges and what seems 06:23 like insurmountable problems, you guys are out there to help operators 06:28 solve them. 06:29 And I'm sure the viewers can see why we're so thrilled to have ever since a 06:33 part of our website, on this website, we're trying to help people improve and 06:37 get better. 06:37 And this is exactly what they do. 06:39 So Tiffany, thanks again for what you do and 06:42 sponsoring us. 06:43 I can't wait to work with you over the upcoming months and years as we continue 06:47 the mission of both of our companies. 06:50 Same here, Mark. 06:51 We're excited to share some great case studies and success stories with your 06:55 audience and hopefully help some other people along the way. 06:58 So be great. 06:59 That's great and thanks all of you for watching and thanks for your continued 07:03 support of Park Place.
